About The Author

David Kaiser, a historian, is the author of six books, including Politics and War: European Conflict from Philip II to Hitler (1990) and American Tragedy: Kennedy, Johnson, and the Origins of the Vietnam War (2000.) He has taught strategy and policy at the U.S. Naval War College for 22 years.
