About The Author

Yacov Bengo is a Brigadier General and currently a Division Commander. He has an MA in Political Science and 25 years of experience in force build-up and operations at the tactical level and within the General Staff. His current research deals with the utility of military force in the evolving environment of operations and therefore the adequate principals of force build-up.

Giora Segal is a Brigadier General (res.), and currently the Head of the IDF Concepts, Experimentation and Development Center. He holds B.sc. in mathematics and an MA in political Science. He has 38 years of experience in force build-up and operations within the general staff. His current research deals with force build-up and the utility of force, including planning processes in the strategic and operational environment.
