About The Author

Captain Brett Friedman, United States Marine Corps (USMC) is a field artillery officer currently assigned as the Commanding Officer of Battery A, 1st Battalion, 10th Marines at Camp Lejeune, NC. He holds a B.A. in History from the Ohio State University and is pursing an M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies through the US Naval War College. He has published articles in the Marine Corps Gazette, Military Review, Small Wars Journal, and The Journal of Military Operations.
