BIO

Dr. Eitan Shamir is currently with the Ministry of Strategic Affairs at the Office of the Israeli Prime Minister. He is also a Research Fellow with the BESA Center at Bar Ilan University and formerly a Senior Fellow at the Dado Center for Interdisciplinary Military Studies (CIMS). His research interest and publications focus on topics such as command and leadership, sources of military change and military culture. He is the author of Transforming Command: The Pursuit of Mission Command in the US, UK and Israeli Armies (Stanford UP, 2011). Eitan has taught at the IDF Staff & Command College, IDF Operational Art Course, and the IDF Junior Officers program at Bar Ilan University. He was also working internationally as a management consultant with firms such as PwC and KPMG Consulting, focusing on strategic transformations and leadership development. He holds a PhD from the Department of War Studies, King's College London.
